Toddler Room

Our Toddler Room is licensed for 10 children from 18 months to 2 1/2 years of age.  We have two wonderful teachers who take care of this very active group each day, Ms. Tatyana and Ms. Laura.  Both teachers have a multitude of experience with this age group and it shows in the care and structure that they give to the children.

Children in this room are just learning how to socialize and do not quite have the understanding of 'sharing' yet.  Parallel play is the first stage that the toddler group engages in.  As they grow, they will learn to play cooperatively together with direction from the teachers.  Children in the toddler room sometimes become frustrated in their play with each other and the teachers are there to assist them with this problem solving skill.  As the children grow, they will acquire many new skills which will accompany them throughout their life.

Our toddlers are continually learning each and every day.  The program strives for a good balance between beginning the child's education and Christian content.  Through each day the children will further develop their fine motor skills through colouring, painting, gluing and eating.  They will begin to have more stability in their gross motor development through outdoor play, climbing, hopping and running.  Their intelectual growth, communication skills and verbal language will soar.
