Preschool Room

The Preschool Program is licensed for 16 children from 2 1/2 years to 5 years.  The two teachers which educate this group are Ms. Ingrid and Mrs. Felicia.  Both teahcers within this program are relatively new to Genesis however come with much education and experience to fully support this very active and curious bunch.

In the classroom, the teachers work very diligently with the children to continue the learning that they received from the toddler room.  The children will continue with the development of their fine & gross motor skills, their language & cognitive skills as well as accumulating new life skills.  The educational component of the preschool program consists of letter recognition & sounds, name recognition, matching, number recognition and counting.  The teachers spend one-on-one time with the children, work with them in small groups as well as use repitition through the year to enhance each child's own learning ability.

Goal setting for the children is a part of our daily curriculum.  The teachers use this to encourage the children to constructively use their communication skills, to participate in co-operative play, to teach them problem solving skills, to build their self-esteem and to provide them with challenges which will foster their growth as a whole.  Children will learn to respect themselves, their friends, their teachers and their environment.
